Types of Braces

At My Smile Orthodontics, we celebrate the individuality of each person and their unique smile. We offer a range of modern, state-of- the-art treatment options that fit your busy lifestyle and will deliver a perfect smile that you will love!

Metal Braces

Efficient and cost effective

The metal braces we offer at My Smile Orthodontics are much smaller, less noticeable, and more comfortable than ever before!

Traditional braces has been around since the beginning of orthodontics and have evolved tremendously through the years.

Metal braces are the standard among patients looking to straighten their smile. Today’s contemporary braces are made of exceptionally strong metals as they need to be able to withstand the test of time while they are on your teeth. This way whatever wear and tear occur during your time wearing braces, you can feel secure.

While contemporary braces are metallic colored, there are a number of bands and features that can be utilized to spruce them up. Give us a call today so we can discuss in more details about getting you that perfect smile!

Ceramic (clear) Braces

Ditch the metal and go for braces made out of glass

Don’t love the look of traditional braces? We can straighten your teeth just as effectively with see-through ceramic braces that are made of glass.

Whether you’re an adult or a teen, we all want to look our best at all times. Changing the way your teeth are structured takes time and now there are ways to keep you looking your best during the treatment period. Clear braces or ceramic braces are translucent. This new technology is available for most orthodontic cases. The great benefit of these braces is that you won’t have to have that metallic look. In addition, clear braces are specifically designed so that they won’t stain or wear over time, therefore allowing you to worry less about maintenance.

Give us a call today to see if you’re a candidate for ceramic braces!

Perfect your smile without anyone noticing

Dr. Najirad will prescribe the movements of your teeth in small steps, until they reach the desired final position. With Invisalign, you can remove your aligners for special occasions, and eat and drink whatever you want, and it allows you to brush and floss normally. For more information see our Invisalign page. If you have been told Invisalign isn’t an option for you, call us today for a free second opinion. Invisalign is often the best and most esthetic and convenient option for those with a busy lifestyle as it requires fewer office visits and is just as effective as traditional braces. The technology uses a series of clear removable trays called “aligners” that are created from a scan of YOUR mouth.

Self-Ligating Braces

Less Pressure, Faster tooth movement

Unlike traditional braces, self-ligating braces do not require any metal or elastic ties to hold the archwire. Instead, self-ligating brackets use a small door that can be opened and closed to engage the wire. This reduces friction and allows the teeth to slide and move. In some cases, self-ligating braces are more efficient and more comfortable than traditional braces. Call us today to see if this is the right choice for you. At My Smile Orthodontics, you can place your trust in us to continually use the best equipment such as anchorage devices, to enhance your braces experience!

Eliminate bulky appliances

Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) are very small screws inserted into bone to aid specific tooth movement. TADs do not move, so they act like an anchor for teeth to move against. Once a TAD is no longer needed, it is removed from your mouth. What makes TADs special is that they can move teeth and correct malocclusions in ways that were nearly impossible a decade ago. In some cases, TADs can help avoid surgery or implant placement.

Retainer (1)

Retention (Retainer)

Life-Time retainer replacement plan

Once you have achieved your perfect smile, Dr. Najirad will give you a set of retainers to help maintain the alignment of your teeth and ensure they do not move back or “relapse” into their original position. Even years after orthodontic treatment, your teeth will have a tendency to move and shift. Therefore, it is important to continue to wear retainers throughout your life. We want your smile to last a lifetime which is why we offer a lifetime retainer replacement plan. Call us today for more information.

My Smile Orthodontics offers a variety of retention options such as:

Hawley-Type Retainers: removable, hard plastic retainers

Essix Retainers: removable, clear retainers

Fixed/Permanent Retainers: customized wires bonded onto the backside (lingual) of the teeth

Lost your retainer? No problem call us and we can quickly replace your lost retainer, often on the same day with our in-house laboratory.
